For the first time in a long while, Marcus Morris will play an official game against his brother Markieff as he was traded in the off season by Phoenix Suns to Detroit Pistons.
Their time away from each mother might not last that long though. If the latest NBA trade rumors concerning his brother and Motor City are true, then they might see themselves standing side by side again.
NBA trade rumors from Detroit Free Press claims the city's top basketball team is looking at Phoenix Suns-Markieff Moriss situation.
The 2011 13th overall draft pick blatantly expressed his desire to leave the Arizona-based team a few months ago. The mess has already been ironed out and Suns insists they will not trade the 26-year old power forward.
"I will guess Brandon Jennings is traded. For who? No way even guessing that, although I gather the Pistons are monitoring the Markieff Morris situation in Phoenix. There is interest there," Detroit Free Press wrote.
"I mentioned the Pistons interest in the other Morris twin earlier in the chat. They would definitely be interested in acquiring, but the Suns aren't interested currently and the asking price is high. Hearing a starter and a first to even get the Suns to listen."
Markieff infamously told media back in August 13 that he is sure he will not be wearing the Phoenix Suns jersey when the 2015-16 NBA season resumes.
"One thing for sure, I am not going to be there," Morris said after a morning workout at Competitive Edge Sports in King of Prussia.
"If you want to put that out there, you can put that out. " he added. "I don't give a [freak]. I am not going to be there at all. That's just what it is."
Then, Arizona Republic's Paul Coro wrote late August of this year that Suns will not let go of Markieff, sending blows to all NBA trade rumors concerning him.
"The Suns need and want Morris. They would not stand much of a chance to replace him by trade. They would have no chance to replace him by free agency. They do not have an adequate existing roster option."
Is Markieff and Marcus going to reunite?
