'Legends Of Tomorrow' News: How Is NBC's 'Chuck' Connected Other Than Cast Brandon Routh?

| By

"Legends of Tomorrow" cast Brandon Routh played many interesting roles before. He was Superman in 2006 and Todd Ingram in "Scott Pilgrim vs the World."

Another Routh character that still resonates to many of his followers is Daniel Shaw in NBC TV series "Chuck."

The "Legends of Tomorrow" cast appeared in 12 "Chuck" episodes only but his performance in the show earned him several nominations including the IGN Award Best Villain of 2010.

Routh is not the only "Chuck" personnel connected to "Legends of Tomorrow." Showrunner Phil Klemmer also once worked for the romance-comedy starring Zachary Levi in the title role and Yvonne Strahvoski.

Here is another great news for "Chuck" fans. Carte Matt reported one of the show's episodes was written by "Chuck" co-creator Chris Fedak.

"Now, the latest bit of news, something that was at least a surprise to us, comes courtesy of Marc Guggenheim's Twitter feed," it said.

"The executive producer confirms that the third episode of 'Legends of Tomorrow' is entitled 'Blood Ties,' and he wrote it with none other than Chris Fedak! Fedak was the co-creator of 'Chuck' alongside Josh Schwartz, and is responsible for either writing or co-writing many of the most-important episodes, including the eventual series finale. Clearly, someone over at Warner Bros. TV loved working with some of these 'Chuck' people and were interested in getting them aboard another show that combines action with humor."

Having Routh, Klemmer, and Fedak in "Legends of Tomorrow" will surely excite "Chuck" fans, probably feel like seeing a crossover episode.

Speaking of crossover, "The Flash" executive producer said "Legends of Tomorrow" crossover episode will unfold in his show which returns this week. Some LoT cast are also expected to be seen in "Arrow."

"We're really excited about the crossover," Kreisberg told Comic Book Resources.

"We worked so hard on the crossovers last year, making sure that they were exciting, entertaining and bold. The only way to top it is to go even bigger and even bolder. We're going to be introducing part of the Hawkman (Falk Hentschel) mythology in those episodes, and Kendra will play a big part in those. The crossovers are really going to set the stage for 'Legends,' but in a cool way so that if you don't watch 'Arrow' and 'Flash,' and you didn't see the crossovers, you would still really enjoy 'Legends.'"

Aside from Routh, other members of "Legends of Tomorrow" cast are Wentworth Miller, Victor Garber, Caity Lotz, Franz Drameh, Dominic Purcell, and Arthur Darvill. The show is expected to debut next year.
