"Shokugeki No Soma" season 1 ended with a blast, now fans are asking when season 2 will be released?
While many avid anime fans are hopeful that "Shokugeki No Soma" season 2 release date is happening, When-Will believed that there is a slim chance that a follow up season is possible.
"It is unlikely that Food Wars: Shokugeki no Soma will get renewed for a second season - the subject of food is quite narrow," the anime publication noted.
It did however acknowledge how cooking shows from James Oliver had proven that cooking shows can actually stand the test of time, thus there's still a possibility for the second season to arrive if the DVD sales of "Shokugeki No Soma" would turn out "satisfactory."
"If 'Food Wars: Shokugeki no Soma' DVD sales are satisfactory, there might be another season of the series, and in that case we are looking at summer of 2016," When-Will stated.
OtakuGiveAways is also hopeful that something as good as "Shokugeki No Soma" is going to have a season 2, given that the anime has shown a great storyline.
"I mean, hey it is food! But the good thing is that there is a clear storyline that lays as a backbone and shows the anime isn't all about food and the anime has potential to grow. I hope there will be second round for this gorgeous anime!" It explained.
Meanwhile, Youth Health Magazine has noted that the anime has only adapted Chapter 135 of its manga version, thus there's still full story left for "Shokugeki No Soma" season 2 release date to arrive.
"As of the moment, the anime's manga version is at Chapter 135," the publication explained. "That said, the animated version of the franchise still has a lot of material to work with for the "Shokugeki No Soma" season 2 plot."
"Shokigeki no Soma" first arrived on April 3, 2015 at online anime streaming sites, Crunchyroll and Anime Digital Network.
When-Will compared the anime show to that of the popular reality cooking show, "Hell's Kitchen."
Noting that the anime features cooking show offs from the students of the prestigious culinary school, where only a handful would make it to the graduation rights.
