Sasquatch Genome Project researchers studying Bigfoot found DNA evidence showing the creature really does exist according to CBS Dallas-Fort Worth.
"We want people to understand that this is a serious study," Dr. Melba Ketchum, a genetics scientist who led the project during the course of the five-year study, told CBS DFW.
New footage has been released of an alleged bigfoot creature sleeping in the woods of Kentucky, along with, various blood and hair samples.
"Approximately one hundred and thirteen separate samples of hair, blood, mucus, toenail, bark scrapings, saliva and skin with hair and subcutaneous tissue attached were submitted by dozens of individuals and groups from thirty four separate hominin collection sites around North America," a report about the project said CBS DFW reported.
The tissue sample, the team found is believed to feel more like hair on a horse than a humans'. Samples of hair also helped researchers discover a genetic structure similar to that of a human beings. The discovery was made possible by a $500,000 donation from businessman Adrian Erickson. Researchers were able to analyze all samples they collected thanks to his contributions. The samples were sent to the University of Texas Southwestern, New York University, and the North Louisiana Crime Lab to be studied.
Although scientists found all of the samples to be human after putting it into genome sequences, some parts of the DNA were found to be identical to no other species previously known to man CBS DFW reported.
Scientists are calling what they've found, a genetic hybrid which breaks what was previously thought about evolution. A group in Dallas has a video of what is "a reddish brown sasquatch juvenile" sleeping in the woods after she was tracked by her mother.
