Jimmy Fallon recently shared news of his injury, revealing that he is currently undergoing therapy to regain full mobility of his ring finger.
The "Tonight Show" host had also recently taken off the bandage, showing a bent and discolored finger.
"I took the bandage off today because I figured 'why not? Maybe I have had it on too long?'" Fallon told Inside Edition.
Despite the finger's swollen appearance, Fallon said he is recuperating well.
"It is getting better," the comedian added. "I am in physical therapy right now. It is all about getting better now."
Despite his rapid recovery, however, Jimmy Fallon revealed during his Sept. 11 guest appearance in the "Ellen Degeneres Show" that he is not expecting the finger to heal anytime soon.
"It's gonna take a while to heal," Fallon told Degeneres. "I'm thinking probably by the new year."
Just a few months after Jimmy Fallon's finger injury made the news, the talk show host announced another misfortune that he has sustained: a chipped front tooth.
"Chipped front tooth trying to open tube of scar tissue repair gel for recovering finger injury," Fallon captioned an Instagram selfie, showing his chipped tooth. "Thank you Dr. Jobe DDS! #BestSummerEver Brand new Tonight Show tonight!"
In June, Fallon had to take a two-week hiatus from his show after suffering from ring avulsion, a surprisingly common injury that people suffer.
"I tripped and fell in my kitchen on a braided rug that my wife loves and I can't wait 'til I burn it to the ground," Jimmy Fallon explained, after sharing the news of his injury. "And I tripped and fell and I caught my fall and I'm getting up and my finger's sideways."
Fallon said most of the time, doctors amputate ring avulsion patients' fingers. Luckily for the multi-million dollar host, he had access to the best microsurgery physician in the hospital he was in.
"Awesome doctor, comes in with a bow tie and cowboy boots," Fallon said. "That's my doctor! That's my guy -I knew it when he walked in."
