American watchmaker Fossil teased its Q line of wearable devices, including an Android Wear smartwatch, last week. The devices will launch this holiday season.
The trio of devices were showcased at the Baja East and Dion Lee fashion shows in New York, according to Fossil.
"Fossil Q consists of a connected bracelet, a connected non-display watch and a round face watch that runs on Android Wear."
According to Android Authority, "[t]he Android Wear device will come with its own companion application and will have the ability to track your daily activity."
Unlike other smartwatches though, the Q's display won't be touchable or changeable, "making [it] a rather timid first entry into the smartwatch market," per Digital Trends.
The smartwatch will reportedly come in either a silver or metallic black shell. Fossil said bands will be available in his and hers styles with "a range of strap colors and materials."
"Fossil still wants its watch to be loved for the design and quality, not just the smart software features," DT said.
As such, the website said the watchmaker's focus are people who want "smart" functionalities from their watches rather than techies who want a stylish smartwatch packed with plenty of features.
Fossil did not detail Q smartwatch specs but from the line-up's first unveiling back in August at the Intel Developer Forum 2015, the wearable device is known to be powered by an Intel chip.
At the event, it was remarked that device bore a resemblance to Motorola's Moto 360 with the same "flat-tire" look.
From the image posted by Fossil though, Android Police "can't tell from that if the flat tire remains." Nevertheless, the website thinks it probably does.
But since it won't have an LCD display, DT expects the smartwatch to "last more than 30 days without any charge necessary."
The Fossil Q smartwatch, along with the rest of the line-up, will go on sale online and in stores this holiday season.
