"Fitz and the team enlist the aid of an Asgardian to unlock the secrets of the ancient monolith that swallowed Simmons, and Agent May is at a crossroads in her personal and professional life."

There is more about Agent May's return. Talking to Entertainment Weekly, the actress said the reason why May returns is still a mystery.

"You will see May in the second episode, you just don't know why she's there," Ming-Na Wen told EW's Natalie Abrams, "adding that May will be attempting to juggle actually having a personal life on top of her professional one."

"She's trying to figure it out and that's why, in the first episode, no one's really sure where her head's at right now. Adding Andrew [Clair Underwood] into the team is really vital for season 3 because the Inhumans are no longer the exception," she said. "They're becoming more of the norm."

Ming Na Wen previously said her character leaving Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg), Skye (Chloe Bennet), and others is because of the corruption going on in the agency.

"In any situation when someone is so devoted to their work as May was, but then realizing over the last two years that S.H.I.E.L.D. isn't really what she dedicated her life to," Wen said in an interview with TVGuide.com.

"That there was definitely a lot of corruption to S.H.I.E.L.D., as well as uncertainty now with the Inhumans being brought in by Coulson. It's going to be figuring out her final decision in Season 3 and I think Andrew will probably play a part in it."

"Agents of SHIELD" season 3 episode two will air on Oct. 6.
