The nation was gripped with sadness yesterday after yet another mass shooting incident.
Oregon shooting had United states on its knees again after 26-year old man Chris Harper-Mercer fired at will at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg. The Oregon shooting suspect killed nine people and injured seven others.
There is no clear motive yet on why the Oregon shooting suspect did what he did but a People report discovered a chilling detail about Mercer.
The website reported Mercer, who died in the shootout with police, is obsessed with Satan based on the data authorities got from his computer.
"The Umpqua Community College shooter was obsessed with Satan and documented his devotion to darkness in a manifesto that was recovered from his computer, a source familiar with the investigation tells PEOPLE. (PEOPLE has not received a copy of this document nor confirmed its existence)," the website wrote adding that Mercer's computer had 666 written on the manifesto and that he desired to serve darkness.
People's source also claimed that Mercer's main purpose in the Oregon shooting is strictly for satanic purposes.
"The guy did this strictly for satanic purposes," the source told PEOPLE. "He did it to become a god in hell. He wants to be evil. That is his goal, to serve Satan." Mercer allegedly singled out Christians during his massacre, asking people to state their religion and shooting those who identified as Christians in the head.
"The only thing I've seen that came close to this type of devotion to Satan is the 'Night Stalker' in Los Angeles," referring to Richard Ramirez, a serial killer who murdered at least 13 people over the course of two years in the 1980s.
Pres. Barack Obama had expressed sympathy to the relatives of Oregon shooting victims through a statement released a few hours after the incident.
"But as I said just a few months ago, and I said a few months before that, and I said each time we see one of these mass shootings, our thoughts and prayers are not enough. It's not enough. It does not capture the heartache and grief and anger that we should feel. And it does nothing to prevent this carnage from being inflicted someplace else in America -- next week, or a couple of months from now.
We don't yet know why this individual did what he did. And it's fair to say that anybody who does this has a sickness in their minds, regardless of what they think their motivations may be. But we are not the only country on Earth that has people with mental illnesses or want to do harm to other people. We are the only advanced country on Earth that sees these kinds of mass shootings every few months. "
Oregon shooting happened just one month since the chilling live TV murder of WDBJ news crew members.
