"Tomorrowland" director Bard Bird recently confirmed that "The Incredibles 2" release date will be coming much sooner than expected.
The helmer previously shared that he would be utilizing some plotlines that weren't explored in the first film. He is reportedly 75% done with the movie's script. Rumors suggested that the movie might be released sometime in 2016,
"I had a lot of ideas for the original 'Incredibles' that I didn't get a chance to use, that I like," Bird previously told Collider in May. "I have ideas that I wanted to pursue a little bit, and there wasn't enough time in 'Incredibles.' There are new ideas I have, and I think there are enough of those together to make an interesting movie."
Although Bird is making a sequel of one of the most beloved animations to date, he isn't really impressed with Hollywood's penchant for creating sequels after sequels of blockbuster films.
"Many of my favorite movies are sequels," he supposed told Entertainment Weekly. "But I do worry when it's taking up more than fifty percent of the big-budget bandwidth, the collective bandwidth of Hollywood, it starts to worry me because it means nothing new is getting introduced into the ecosystem. That's not healthy for the long-term view of film."
He won't just be sitting idly by and becoming overwhelmed by the film industry.
"Every studio should, like an allowance, allow themselves a certain number of franchise things, and then as an investment in the future, try these risky things that are unproven," he continued. "At one time, 'Star Wars' was a risky venture."
CinemaBlend doesn't seem to think that his idealistic approach will work.
Nevertheless, the "Ratatouille" director promised to make "The Incredibles 2" release date worth waiting for.
"The Incredibles" previously earned 631 million, as well as received nominations from the Academy Award. It won "Best Sound Editing and Best Animated Feature." Thanks to the original film's suggested unit , fans will be even more exited for "The Incredibles 2" release date.
