Black Bear Leaves Alaska Bar After Being Told To Leave By Bartender (VIDEO)

| By

A black bear left an Alaska bar after the bartender told the animal leave in Juneau Monday night according to the New York Daily News.

"No bear! Get out! No! You can't be in here!" Ariel Svetlik-McCarthy, a bartender at the Alaskan Hotel and Bar said to the bear. Appearing angry and annoyed, the bear then left the bar and went into the hotel lobby. The bear then walked back outdoors after he got the idea he was not welcomed in the establishment.

While bears are known to come into homes in the area, they are not known to enter businesses.

"Sounds to me like they did great, and it's good news the bear did oblige," state biologist Ryan told Alaska public radio station KTOO.

C. Scott Fry, owner of the bar and hotel, uploaded surveillance camera clips of the bear walking outside and into the lobby to his establishment's Facebook page.

At 9:15 p.m. on Monday Fry observed the bear strut down the sidewall past the hotel lobby.

"And as soon as he got to the bar door, it made a left and walked in like he wanted to have a beer," Fry told KTOO.

Wildlife officials from the Alaska Department of Fish and Game have put down two bears in Juneau who have created a problem.

"It's one of those things that you don't do in a residential area. And it was in the middle of the night," Scott told KTOO.

One incident occurred when a large black bear created a scene in downtown Juneau chasing residents two different times. In another instance, an adult female bear looked to destroy vehicles and structures in Alaska's Tee Harbor area.
