Fox News pundit and conservative commentator Mary Katharine Ham paid tribute to her late husband, Jake Brewer following his tragic bike accident last month. The White House aide's widow took to Instagram to mourn her loss and pay tribute.
"We lost our Jake, and I lost part of my heart and the father of my sweet babies," Ham said in one of her Instagram posts, as quoted by Today.
The grieving widow described her husband's life as "powerful and tender and fierce, with an ever-present twinkle in the eye."
According to the website, the 35-year-old widow continued to post family photos on Instagram, each one filling with expressions of sympathy. One of them featured the family in comic book costumes prompting her to call Brewer their family's "own personal superhero."
US President Barrack Obama joined widow Mary Katharine Ham in mourning her loss. In a statement, POTUS described the late White House aide as "one of the best."
Brewer met his tragic end after losing control of his bike and crashing into a car in Maryland during the 150-mile Ride to Conquer Cancer charity event Sept. 19, according to the Daily Mail. He was 34 years old.
Before joining the White House as an adviser to US Chief Technology Officer Megan Smith, he reportedly worked at Change.org and was a co-founder of Define American.
As evident in widow Mary Katharine Ham's Instagram posts, Brewer was an avid outdoorsman. One of them showed the late White House aide standing on top of Mount Kilimanjaro.
But Brewer always made time for his family. One of the first photos Ham posted showed "all four members if [their] little, growing family in it." The said photo was said to have been taken by Brewer weeks before his tragic end.
