Dying to see "Da Vinci's Demons" season 3 trailer? Here it is now.
Fox United Kingdom has released the first "Da Vinci's Demons" season 3 trailer featuring the Turks and more of Leo's bigger adventure. The Starz TV series is gearing up for its one last season as it was officially canceled on July.
What can fans expect when the show returns? The show has a new showrunner in John Shiban who previously worked on hit AMC TV series "Breaking Bad." Shiban said the third season will see more of character development.
"What we realized is that, true, hardcore fans even of genre work, but of TV-especially TV drama-come in for character, and they come in because they want to dig deeper into the character, not throw more things at the character," Shiban told Entertainment Weekly in an interview last year.
"So we dug into everybody, but especially Leo. Leo has to face this season that his weapons and his ideas and his brain basically have been pillaged. And the bad guys have his weapons, have made them better-basically, he has to fight himself."
"Da Vinci's Demons" season 3 premiere will pick up shortly from where it left off last season. Tom Riley's Leonardo Da Vinci got a glimpse of her mom in last season's finale but it is unfortunate because she's with Ottoman invaders.
Shiban said in separate EW interview that they will use the Ottoman invasion to bring the characters together.
"We're using the Ottoman invasion as a way to bring everybody together and that way, new people will quickly understand what Riario was facing, what Lucrezia's facing because they're all facing one giant event," he said.
"It's their Pearl Harbor, It's their 9/11...The war begins, and you're meeting all these people in the light of that."
Cancellation of "Da Vinci's Demons" came as a shock for many fans since the show is doing good in the ratings and reviews. Starz CEO Chris Albrecht said shortly after the announcement that fans should not see the cancellation as a bad news.
"There is no bad news here," Albrecht said of "Da Vinci's Demons" season 3 cancellation in an interview with Deadline.
"The show ran its course. If a show runs for 3 seasons, it doesn't mean it's not a success, especially in the premium space."
