Jim Gordon will never get a rest.
"Gotham" season 2 episode guide teased that the determined detective of the city is set for a stand-off with one of the members of the Maniax which new character Theo Galavan (James Frain) assembled out of Arkham Asylum.
Maniax includes Jim's (Ben McKenzie) ex girlfriend Barbara Kean (Erin Richards) and this makes it hard for him to do his job. While he is hesitant for fear of hurting her, Barbara is all business in taking him down.
"She's just got some scores to settle. She has 'issues,' as she says," Erin Richards told TV Line when asked for "Gotham" season 2 spoiler on her character.
The Welsh actress insisted, however, that Barbara loves Jim and all she wants is just to be with him.
"She definitely loves Jim, and she definitely wants him back. But I think it's more like she wants to bring him into the darkness of where she is," Richards added. "She sees who he really is, so she's kind of angered that he's playing this 'role' [of do-right lawman], like, 'No, I know who you really are, so I'm going to get you back and we'll go into this dark place together.'"
Barbara went insane for killing her own parents. She killed people before and Erin is ready to do it again. Richards said Barbara might also kill Jim if things get worse.
"She doesn't want Jim dead. Yet," Richards said. "But as for lines that she won't cross.... Hmm, I don't think killing is out of the question."
Erin Richards previously told Comic Book Resources that Barbara Kean will be shaped by people she meets in Arkham Asylum. Although she seems ordinary on the outside, she can take on anyone because of her knack for finding everyone's weaknesses, including Jim's.
"Her skill is she knows everyone's weakness. So when she meets someone, she's just like, "Oh, yeah. I got you. I got you,"" she said.
"Then she can use that weakness, but she might not let that character know she knows that weakness. She will just play along with each individual person until she gets what she wants. She's going to be really powerful, which is exciting."
