Chino Moreno and the rest of Deftones have decided to take a break following the tragic death of their bassist, Chi Cheng, two years ago.
And while many thought that the alternative metal band will eventually retire, Deftones has decided to move on from the tragic incident as they announce that they are coming up with a new album.
With fans excited to hear new songs from the band, Chino Moreno revealed that they are actually done with the recording during an interview with Loud Wire.
The band's frontman revealed that the follow-up album to their 2012 "Koi No Yokan" will be released either next month or in November.
"I think October or November, probably November," Moreno revealed "As of today, we are rushing to get our thank you's and credits turned in. Once the music is turned in, which should be in the next couple of weeks, there is still some mixing and mastering to be done. But the recording are all done. The songs are all there. They are awesome and we're excited about it."
However, with their new album done, the band's DJ, Frank Delgado admitted that they have actually yet to think of a title for the new album.
"That's our next thing to tackle," Delgado told Diffuser.fm of their album's title.
Adding that their new album is going to be different in a lot of aspects.
"This one was different," Delgado explained how different the new album would be. "This one was a lot of starting and stopping which I think is something we would've been scared of before. For the last couple of records, we went in and we started writing and we didn't stop until we finished the record."
Meanwhile, Chino Moreno, talked about the new sound the 6-string bass will bring in the new album.
"One thing this record that's really cool sonically, our bass play is playing a 6-string bass which is closer to a baritone guitar," Moreno said of their bassist. "So how his frequency works with my guitar frequency and Stef guitar frequency it molded a different sound, a different area of sonics that is new for us."
