Will fans finally get to hear new songs from Radiohead?
Apparently, the English rock band is now very busy with their new album, which is rumored to be launch during the Holidays.
In an interview with ABC.net.au, drummer Philip Selway reportedly hints the the possibility of a new Radiohead album coming in December.
"We've got quite a busy autumn coming up,"Selway revealed in the interview. "We want to finish a record and that's where we're at. We're just launching ourselves into it."
And in a separate interview with NME, Selway discussed how this new album will be different from their previous ones.
"For so long we kind of played exclusively with each other and that takes you so far, so I suppose from album to album you try to push yourself beyond your comfort zone," Selway explained.
"We kind of change record to record, try and change the underlying approach to making music."
Meanwhile, guitarist Jonny Greenwood added that Radiohead has actually tried to incorporate new techniques with old school techniques in making the new album.
"We've certainly changed our method again," Greenwood said. "It's too involved. We're kind of limiting ourselves; working on limits. So we'll see what happens. It's like we're trying to use very old and very new technology to see what happens."
But while Philip Selway is determined to bring new music to Radiohead, he is also reportedly very busy with his solo stint.
According to Selway, he misses performing in small gigs that makes connection with the audience more personal.
"With Radiohead, we're playing places like sheds and arenas, which is very suited to what we've been doing musically, and they're great venues to play, but there's an audience connection that you miss from smaller clubs," Selway compared Radiohead with his solo performances to Washington Post. "And I suppose because I'm approaching this from a different angle onstage - being out in front of the stage - it is a completely different experience for me anyway."
