Adele Collaborated With Damon Albarn? Gorillaz Gearing Up For Their New Album

| By

Gorillaz seemed to have remained in the shadows following the release of their last album, "The Fall," in 2010.

However, things will reportedly change as the band is now ready to work on a new album.

But before the English virtual band can come up with a new record, Damon Albarn had reportedly collaborated with Adele's new album first.

In a previous interview with The Guardian, Albarn revealed that he actually had the chance to work with Adele as he reveals details about the songstress' upcoming album, describing it as "very middle of the road".

"I heard the work she did with my friend Brian, aka Danger Mouse," Albarn said. "It's very middle of the road."

Albarn added that he actually worked with Adele for five tracks. However, he admitted that he doubts if it will ever get to the final cut.

"Adele asked me to work with her and I took the time out for her," he explained. "And I'm not a producer, so ... I don't know what is happening really. Will she use any of the stuff? I don't think so. Let's wait and see. The thing is, she's very insecure. And she doesn't need to be, she's still so young."

Going back to Gorillaz's new album, in accordance to Jamie Hewlett's launching of the 2015 2D versions of Murdoc, Noodle and Russel on Instagram, a new album is reportedly in the works.

Albarn told ABC News that they are now working on new songs for the virtual trio.

"I'm starting recording in September for a new Gorillaz record," Albarn admitted. "I've just been really, really busy so I haven't had a chance."

Adding, "I'd love to just get back in to that routine of being at home and coming to the studio five days a week."

He did not however mention anything about Gorillaz's plans on when the new album will be released.
