Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update: List of HTC Smartphones Receiving The OTA

Android 6.0 Marshmallow update is due today and here's the list of Android devices receiving the OTA.

Google has finally announced its latest Nexus devices bearing the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS through its live stream earlier.

The Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P will be the first devices pre-installed with the OS. Android 6.0 Marshmallow has been officially launched today and will be available to older Nexus devices on Oct. 5.

However, Android Police noted that only several Nexus devices will receive the update that includes Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 7 (2013), Nexus 9 and Nexus Player wherein "Marshmallow code will also be pushed to AOSP on the same date," BGR reported.

On the other hand, Nexus 4, Nexus 7 (2012) and Nexus 10 remains on the latest build of Android 5.0 Lollipop.

As for the other devices, HTC confirmed that HTC One M9 series will only receve the update. But according to @LlabTooFer who recently leaked the list of HTC devices that might receive the update with HTC Sense 7.0 on top of it will include midrange and flagship devices such as:

Desire EYE, Desire 816, Desire 820, Desire 826, HTC One M8, One M8s, One M8 EYE, One E8, HTC One M9, One M9+, One ME, One E9, One E9+ Butterfly 2 and 3.

Tech Gadget Central added, HTC is expect to roll Android 6.0 Marshmallow update by November as "it needs at least 3 months to work on a new update in order to integrate all their own features into the OS and work to make the OS compatible with their device, without causing bugs," their source revealed.

The Android 6.0 Marshmallow brings "revamped app permissions; Google Now on Tap feature; new Chrome feature that will change the Web experience for Android users; new ways to handle Web links; integrated Android Pay mobile payment system; new fingerprint APIs for developers to add into their apps and native fingerprint support, apart from battery saver features called Doze that will make Android devices smart about managing power," NDTV wrote.
