Theo James Avoids Shailene Woodley Relationship Rumors With 'Underworld 5' Movie?

| By

The undeniable chemistry between Theo James and Shailene Woodley in the "Divergent" series have fueled speculations of a real life romance.

And while the actors have constantly denied any romantic involvement, avid fans are still hoping that their reel romance will eventually turn out real.

A not so impossible feat in Hollywood, however it seems like both Theo James and Shailene Woodley are determined to keep their relationship platonic as much as possible.

And reportedly, Theo James is trying to lay low from getting involved with Shailene Woodley as he keeps himself busy with new projects.

According to JoBlo, James, who appeared in "Underworld Awakening" with lead star Kate Beckinsale, is set to reprise his role once again in the upcoming "Underworld 5."

James, who portrayed the role of the vampire named David, is reportedly locked in for the project already.

While both James and Beckinsale have yet to release a statement about their involvement in the said project, Beckinsale's producer husband, Len Wiseman confirmed to IGN that "Underworld 5," is definitely in the works, together with a spin-off film and TV series.

"There's a few things being developed right now and there's some characters that we really like," the 42-year-old writer-producer said of the "Underworld 5" movie.

"There's kind of more of a spin-off of some of the characters like we did with Rise of the Lycans and then another film is also being developed in the works with Kate possibly as well, and then there's a television series as well.

"It's kind of expanding that universe in many ways," he continued.

The Hollywood Reporter added that there are a number of options for Theo James.

"Sources say there was an option on James because of his work on the previous film, and he'll star opposite two new female characters," THR claimed.

Meanwhile, Wiseman clarified that despite rampant news claiming that "Underworld 5" is going to be released next year, the development is still in its early stages.

"You tell me I don't know, there's a lot of releases out there that aren't actually true," he explained.

And while there's no confirmed release date yet, JoBlo added that the plot will now feature "a new and younger generation of vampires and werewolves who are locked in a seemingly never-ending battle between supernatural races."

Together with Theo James and Kate Beckinsale, "Game of Thrones" star Tobias Menzies will reportedly play the role of Marius, the new Lycan leader while Deadline claimed that "Merlin" star Bradley James has been cast as one of the male villains whose character has yet to be revealed.

Under Lakeshore Entertainment's Gary Lucchesi and Tom Rosenberg production, Cory Goodman will pen "Underworld 5."

Anna J. Foerster, who has been famous for her brilliance in cinematography will reportedly make her directorial debut in "Underworld 5."
