"Naruto" has been taking the manga world by storm for over a decade already.
And while fans have yet to tire themselves with Masashi Kishimoto's characters, "Naruto's" creator himself has decided to end the ninja's journey.
During a press conference held by Otaku Art, Masashi Kishimoto announced that retirement of the manga as he explained how its success has sacrificed his time for his family.
He explained that it's only now that the manga has ended that he'd be able to spend quality time with his wife and son.
"During this time, I finally went on my honeymoon," Kishimoto said. "Even though my son has grown as big as Boruto."
And while he thought that he could have finally gotten the rest the he deserved after finishing the series, there are still things to tend to.
"After finishing the manga serial [last year], I finally thought I could rest," Kishimoto explained, "but I couldn't..."
Masashi Kishimoto then finally decided to end everything about "Naruto" as he offered the last movie titled "Boruto: Naruto the Movie."
"I can't. Please let me rest now. The Boruto film is perfect. I'm just speaking for myself, but I'm enormously satisfied," he said.
After admitting that he got tired of continuing the "Naruto" manga series, Masashi Kishimoto has however something more to offer to his avid fans.
According to Anime News Network, the highly acclaimed creator of "Naruto" has decided to work on another manga series that will feature sci-fi plot.
"I've already decided what I'm going to write about in my next work," Kishimoto revealed to Kadokawa's Entermix entertainment magazine. "I'm thinking of writing a science-fiction work. I've already finalized the character designs."
While he did not bother talking about the new manga's plot, he did however teased fans of the new protagonist in his project.
"I think the protagonist is one that hasn't been seen before in manga, and while it's me saying it, I think that the character is done very well."
And just like "Naruto," Masashi Kishimoto assured fans that his new manga series will definitely be a hit.
"I want to think once more about the difference between what I want to write and what readers are looking for when reading my works," Kishimoto stated. "I started thinking about this by writing 'Naruto' and various one-shots. 'Naruto' became an unexpected hit, but I want to make my next work a hit as well by actually aiming to do so."
However, he has yet decided on when he would launch his new manga that will reportedly surpass the success of "Naruto" series.
"I don't know when I'll announce my new work, but please wait for my challenge of a work that will surpass Naruto."
