Burger King has expanded its BK Delivers program to Tucson, Ariz.
The program allows people to order a classic Whopper sandwich and hot and crispy fries and have it delivered straight to their home, dorm, or office.
Petru Pusta, director of retail innovation and non-traditional channels at Burger King Worldwide told Restaurant News the delivery service is already successful in several cities throughout the United States.
"BK® Delivers is already performing well in Boston, New York, Miami, Houston, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco Bay Area, Las Vegas, Sacramento, greater Washington, D.C., Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Denver, Minneapolis and Spokane. As its popularity has grown, we have seen an increasing demand for the program in other markets," she said. "This expansion was an easy decision as Tucson has some of our most loyal guests and the Burger King brand is excited to offer them the opportunity to enjoy the food they love, delivered to them in the comfort of their home, dorm or office."
With the delivery program, guests in the company's delivery zone can order the food items they wish to have by logging onto BKDelivers.com from a laptop, desktop computer, or mobile phone and by calling 1-855-Order-BK or (855-673-3725). The system will also remember the orders of those who order more than once through a one-touch ordering method.
When items are brought to their designated places, hot items stay hot and cold items remain cold through Burger King's proprietary thermal packaging technology system Restaurant News reported.
The service currently operates out of one live restaurant in Tucson and serves the following areas: Colonial Villas, Jefferson Park, Ocotillo Oracle, Adelanto, Feldmans, Iron Horse, Rincon Heights, Barrio Hollywood, the University of Arizona, and Pima Community College.
For a minimum of $10 customers can select from many Burger King favorites. The company takes orders from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Deliveries will only be made to a physical address that is in the delivery zone of a participating restaurant. Times and prices differ with each location.
