Six new pilots, including two comedies and four dramas, have been announced and they could be the new Amazon TV shows to watch out for in 2015.
According to The Guardian, the pilots will air on Amazon Instant Video in the fall.
"The company will then consult user feedback as well as its own internal data and turn the most popular into full series."
Heading the line-up is the Louis C.K.-executive-produced "One Mississippi" which is based on the life of stand-up comedian Tig Notaro. The actress will play as herself in the dark comedy's pilot written by Diablo Cody - best known for "Juno."
British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen will also serve as executive producer for the comedy "Highston" which follows a teenager who has plenty of famous imaginary friends. Former NBA star Shaquille O'Neal and Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea will reportedly appear in the pilot.
Also included among the new Amazon TV shows for 2015 is the biopic "Z." Starring Christina Ricci, the series follows the 1920s socialite Zelda Fitzgerald, wife of author F Scott Fitzgerald.
"Edge" is a Western drama based on the books of George G. Gilman and written by "Iron Man 3" screenwriter Shane Black. "Good Girls Revolt" is a newsroom drama set in 1969 while "Patriot" is a political thriller about an intelligence officer suffering from PTSD.
"We have something for everyone in this season and I am excited to see which shows spark conversation amongst our customers and what they want to be made into a series," Amazon Studios VP Roy Price said, as quoted by Variety.
According to Forbes, the pilots for the new Amazon TV shows for 2015 can be watched on a host of devices including Amazon's Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, Fire phones and Fire tablets, as well as iOS and Android devices.
To enable watch on 4K, a 4K streaming device, at least 15Mbps broadband connection and a 4K UHD TV are needed, per the website.
