Blackberry z30 Release Date: Company Introduces New Handset in Latest Comeback (PHOTO)

Amidst its struggles to stay alive in the mobile computing world, Blackberry has unveiled its Z30 Smartphone, according to Bloomberg.

"BlackBerry OS share will decline markedly over the forecast due to tepid BlackBerry 10 reception and emboldened competition that are expected to whittle away share in its remaining regional bastions of strength, such as Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East," the International Data Corporation said this month Bloomberg reported.

The new product has a 5-inch touch screen and is based on a newer version of the Blackberry 10 operating system Bloomberg reported. The phone also comes equipped with a 1.7 gigahertz processor, stereo speakers that improve the quality of conversations and the largest battery ever built into a BlackBerry. Carriers of the phone will unveil prices. The Blackberry z10 has a 4.2- inch touch screen which is similar to handsets on the iPhone.

The company will begin to sell the phone in the United Kingdom and Middle East next week in what is being deemed as the retailer's biggest move in its goal of turning itself into a profitable company again.

Blackberry is relying on its brand of BlackBerry 10 smartphones to bring in sales for the company so it can grow and make money in order to obtain shares in the smartphone market and compete with current leaders in Apple, and Samsung.

Two fiscal quarters ago, sales did not meet estimates made by analysts by roughly 1 million units. This resulted in the company, headquartered in Waterloo, Ontario, announcing it would be willing to be sold or create new business partnerships.

Blackberry's stock decreased 0.8 percent to $10.47 shortly before 3 p.m. Wednesday Bloomberg reported. This year, company shares decreased 11 percent and currently stand at 90 percent below its high number it revealed in 2008.

Blackberry reports earnings for the second quarter of the fiscal year Sept. 27.
