'Outlander' Season 2 Casting News: 'Game Of Thrones' Star To Play Most Anticipated Character?

| By

The biggest "Outlander" season 2 casting news is probably the one about Brianna.

Entertainment news sites revealed last month that the grown up daughter of Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) will join the second season of the Starz TV series based on novel series by Diana Gabaldon.

This "Outlander" season 2 casting news sent fans crazy. However, details are still scarce.

In latest scoop shared by Venture Capital Post, looks like "Outlander" star Sam Heughan has found the right actress for the role based on a re-tweet he made. However, he seems to be ambitious.

"On the contrary Daily Record reports that, Heughan who plays the character of Jamie Fraser in 'Outlander', recently re-tweet a news via his Twitter account regarding the actress who will play as Brianna. The tweet is about Sophie Turner of 'Game of Thrones' may play the character of Brianna Randall," Venture Capital wrote.

This is deemed as an ambitious "Outlander" season 2 casting since Turner is still part of HBO hit TV series "Game of Thrones." The George R.R. Martin novel-based series also happens to be on TV almost the same time as "Outlander."

Brianna's arrival in the show was first confirmed by a report from TV Line.

"We have a feeling there's about to be a run on red hair dye in Hollywood. At long last, Outlander has issued a casting call for Brianna, which TVLine has exclusively obtained. And if you don't want to be spoiled about what's ahead on the Starz series, get yerself outta this wee post now," the entertainment website wrote.

The website further wrote that instead of an infant, the Brianna the show is looking for is someone who is in his 20s, signaling a major plot in Claire's time travel adventures.

"The official character description describes Brianna as a young 20-something American who's "strong-minded, intelligent beyond her years with an effortless charm and sparkling sense of humor (traits inherited from both her mother and father. She also has a scholastic mindset, with a healthy dose of American strength, having been born and bred in Boston under the watchful eye of professor and historian Frank Randall," the website said.
