Brandon Routh's Ray Palmer was one of the key characters in third season of "Arrow." However, when "Arrow" season 4 release date arrives, not even his shadow will be there.
Ray Palmer was last seen last season in the middle of an explosion inside his office in Palmer Technologies. Although audiences already know he is not dead since he will appear in spinoff series "Legends of Tomorrow", his friends assume he is dead since he already left his company to ex-girlfriend Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards).
When "Arrow" season 4 release date comes, Ray Palmer will not be totally forgotten. In fact, there is an emotional scene featuring ex-girlfriend Felicity. He will pop alive in the show.
"Speaking of the company's namesake, the discovery that presumed-dead Ray is actually alive is "a huge emotional reveal, especially for Felicity," executive producer Wendy Mericle previews as per report by TV Line.
The entertainment website clarified though that Ray's presence will not affect Olicity.
"But don't worry, Olicity 'shippers - "It's more of an emotional reaction to the loss of a friend than any sort of romantic rival. She's very happy with Oliver when we come back in Season 4, but [she and Ray] were friends and they left on good terms. It's more just the relief of, 'Oh my gosh, I thought you were gone and now you're not. How exciting is that?'""
Mericle earlier said that Felicity will now be the CEO of Palmer Technologies and this is how Team Arrow will get their budget.
"She's no longer just the IT girl or Vice President under Palmer," executive producer Wendy Mericle previews with TV Line.
"She's the full-blown CEO, and it's an opportunity to really see that character grow up and be challenged in ways we haven't seen before."
"Arrow" season 4 release date is October 6 and according to Stephen Amell, the episode will feature something they haven't done before.
"The fundamental part of the season, that nobody is really going to understand until they see the premiere, is that we do something in the premiere that we've never done in the history of the show," Amell explained at Dragon Con 2015 as reported by Comicbook.com.
"It does something for the remainder of the season that there's going to be a constant jeopardy in the show, even if times are good. It's a really interesting technique. I think it promotes a good story. I think it will pique people's interest."
