The upcoming "Pokemon" franchise will be an augmented reality game. It will be available on iOS and Android devices as a free-to-play in 2016. However, it is still unclear whether in-app purchases are required before players can start playing the game. It will be played on the real world through Augmented Reality technology, supplied by Niantic, Headlines and Global News reported.
"For the first time, Pokémon will roam free in the real world. Pokémon GO will allow players to capture Pokémon who inhabit parks, shopping areas, sidewalks and the countryside all around the world. Imagine discovering a Squirtle hiding along the waterfront in San Francisco, a Bulbasaur at Shinjuku Station or a Pikachu beneath the Eiffel Tower," according to John Hanke, founder of Niantic.
"Pokémon GO" will be accompanied by a wearable wristband called "Pokémon Go Plus" which allows players play the game without the need of their Android or IOS device on their hand, PC Advisor reported.
The "Pokemon Go Plus" can be connected to iOs and Android via Bluetooth and uses LED and vibration to alert players for "Pokemon" activities nearby. Players can also catch a "Pokemon" and perform simple gestures by pressing a button on the device.
