Ed Sheeran and his rumored girlfriend, Cherry Seaborn, have been keeping things on the down-low after being spotted together in New York and Las Vegas earlier this month.
The alleged couple reportedly started dating recently with Seaborn keeping the British acoustic star company during baseball games in New York. She also went all the way to Las Vegas to spend the Labor Day weekend with him.
Nevertheless, the "Thinking Out Loud" singer still hasn't pubclicly acknowledge the speculations about his blond high school friend. He also refused to put her previous girlfriend in the spotlight until after a couple of months together.
However, Yahoo! News noted that an old pal of the couple, who were former schoolmates at Thomas Mills High School in Farmlingham, Suffolk, was more than eager to spill the beans on how close they actually were in the past.
Sheeran was reportedly a year ahead of Seaborn and it seems like he harbored a little crush on the former hockey player since their high school days.
"There was always something there between them," the said friend told the site. "Ed had a crush on Cherry at school, but she had a boyfriend then."
Could their meeting be destined? Or just a direct result of the singer's mates' plans of finding him a "normal" girlfriend?
The same source added, "I don't think Ed wants to date another celebrity again, having been burned too many times and Cherry is definitely his type."
He was previously linked to other famous women since he broke up with Athina Andrelos, whom he dated for a year. They allegedly broke up after Sheeran's ungainly behaviour at the Brit Awards afterparty in February.
Barbara Palvin, Selena Gomez and Nicole Scherzinger have all been speculated to be Ed Sheeran's girlfriend since the breakup.
Now that he's ready to start his hiatus, will he be spending it in the new house he purchased in his hometown and "live for a bit" or will he join Seaborn in New York instead? Perhaps she would go home and revisit their good time together in Suffolk.
