Fans have long been speculating that there would be an "Avengers" - "Guardians of the Galaxy" crossover, knowing how connected the two films are.
But while it's not impossible to happen, Jeremy Renner, who has been with the "Avengers" franchise as Hawkeye since it started, thought that while the idea is great, it's unlikely to happen at least in his lifetime.
During a Q&A panel at the Wizard World Comic Con in Chicago, Renner finally spoke up about the idea of having the two worlds intertwined in one movie, Cinema Blend reported.
"Is that going to happen?," He asked when the "Avengers" - "Guardians of the Galaxy" crossover topic was brought up.
"Do you know more than I know? I think they'll probably do another Guardians movie, and we still have Avengers 3 and 4 to do."
He then explained that while it's not impossible, it's most likely that it will not happen anytime soon.
"Look, you're going to be like eighty by the time that comes out...and I'm certainly not going to be Hawkeye. I'm going to be a dead guy," he added.
Meanwhile, it can be remembered that director James Gunn already clarified the idea of "Avengers" - "Guardians of the Galaxy" crossover on a post on his Facebook account.
While many misunderstood his previous statement, Gunn apologized for confusing fans.
"When I'm asked about the Guardians and their future, and whether they'll meet up with the Avengers I really don't have all that much to say, because some of it isn't decided yet, and I don't want to give away what is decided. So I speak in these general terms. They aren't things that I'm just saying on the spot, and they aren't things that have been decided on by me alone. But they are sometimes incredibly general, and that can lead to those words being taken in a lot of different ways.
So, I'm sorry for all the different ways my words have been taken. Overall, we'll just have to wait and see where the Guardians go, who they meet, and what they do in the MCU. But know that I love them and will take the best care of them I possibly can for as long as I'm around."
Chris Pratt previously fueled the "Avengers" - "Guardians of the Galaxy" crossover in a statement he made with GQ Magazine.
While he did not mention anything about "Avengers," Pratt reportedly hinted that he's going to make other Marvel films in addition to "Guardians of the Galaxy."
"I'm tied to doing three more, or five more, Guardians of the Galaxy or whatever it is, you know, two more Guardians plus another couple," he revealed.
"Avengers: Infinity War Part 1" release date is set on May 4, 2018 while "Guardians of the Galaxy Part 2" will hit theaters on May 5, 2017.
