Madonna just called Pope Francis what?
The "Material Girl" throws some shade at the Pope during her "Rebel Heart" tour and claims that she is now different than the Catholic Church's highest-ranking leader.
On Sept. 24, Madonna fans gathered for the songstress' Philadelphia, Penn. Leg of her tour, wherein she discussed the most-talked about person in the country as of the moment - Pope Francis.
"I've been excommunicated from the Catholic Church three times. It shows the Vatican really cares," Madonna told the crowd. "I'm very proud of that. It shows that the Vatican cares deeply,"
Then, Madonna gives Pope Francis a rather inappropriate pet name.
"And since the Pope - Popey Wopie -- is on his way here, I wanna dedicate this song to him," Madonna said, while the crowd cheered. "It's a love song and I firmly believe that love makes the world go round,"
What's more, the "Vogue" singer also compared herself to the Pope due to their outfit choices.
"Honestly, I don't think there's any difference between me and the Pope, right? We both wear dresses!" she said. "I'll stop right there."
She then starts playing the ukulele and singing Edith Piaf's "La Vie En Rose" in French.
Prior to that, Madonna joked that Pope Francis was "stalking" her because they were both in New York at the same time recently.
Following her concert Thursday, however, the "Like A Virgin" singer took to Facebook to express her approval of Pope Francis, who is known for his rather radical viewpoints on important issues like abortion, divorce and homosexuality, as compared to past leaders of the Catholic Church.
"Shhhhhhhh....the Pope is in my neighborhood! I'm hoping he pays me a visit! He seems very open minded. He's a #rebelheart," the singer wrote.
"Rules are for fools. That's why I like the new pope. He seems very open-minded," Madonna said, as reported by Hollywood Life.
Madonna seems to be throwing a lot of people off lately. During her New York concert rehearsals, the singer allegedly ordered a tardy dancer to kiss her feet.
"The dancer was only a few minutes late and apologizing like crazy," an insider said. "She's such a perfectionist."
