Hugh Jackman has one more hurrah before he officially lets his iconic role go. Could Tom Hardy be the best choice for the next Wolverine?
Cast changes aside, fans are looking forward to seeing the new "X-Men Apocalypse" trailer which will reportedly come out sometime soon.
Forbes reported that 20th Century Fox will be debuting the highly anticipated teaser sometime next week, along with the full-length trailer for the Matt Damon and Jessica Chastain-starred epic space odyssey film, "The Martian."
The article went on to consider which of the "X-Men Apocalypse" trailer and "The Martian" teaser would gain more for the simultaneous release. It concluded that the latter would likely gain more commercial traction thanks to the already established franchise.
This new instalment could be the one to watch out for in the "Origins" series, according to Simon Kinberg's interview with Collider.
According to the producer, "X-Men Apocalypse" will be the culmination of the four main characters' stories - James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, and Jennifer Lawrence.
"It delivers on the dramatic story and emotion of the last two movies," he told the site, adding that the upcoming Marvel film will be "a bigger movie in both physical scale and I would say emotional stakes too because it is the culmination of this mini trilogy of stories."
Aside from the four actors, another actor will reportedly be saying goodbye to his popular character as well. As already reported, "X-Men Apocalypse" will be Hugh Jackman's last portrayal of his already iconic character, Wolverine.
When asked by MTV News if he had anyone in mind to hand the claws over to, he jokingly answered that he didn't want to "make it too easy on the studio to replace" him since he still had one more film to go.
However, he eventually suggested "Mad Max: Fury Road" star Tom Hardy for the role.
"He's younger than me for sure - I think Tom Hardy would be a great Wolverine," the Australian heartthrob continued. Hardy was also rumored to replace Daniel Craig as James Bond, according to Australia Network News.
