There is not much NBA trade rumors around but that does not mean there is no movement in the league.
Teams do not only mean to acquire players during off-season, they also look to let go of players they deem undeserving of a spot in the team. Miami Heat is one of them.
Reports say Heat, who were the NBA champions just two years ago and not involved in any NBA trade deals in the few weeks, are looking to unload veterans Chris Anderson and Mario Chalmers.
"After media reports all offseason that the Heat were looking to trade Chris Andersen and Mario Chalmers to cut costs, it is unclear where they fit going forward," Palm Beach Post reported.
"Pat Riley shot down the idea that they were on the trading block a few months ago, and they remain on the roster as the team prepares to start training camp Tuesday."
The report also noted that Miami Heat is looking at various options to deal both players including trade.
Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra did not clear what's next for Chris Andersen and Mario Chalmers.
"They're both pros," he said. "They both have been with us through our best years and they understand our commitment to winning.
"Our owner and our president are committed to doing whatever it takes to win in this league. Whatever gives us the best chance to attack those expectations, we're going to do it.
Adding, "We know what they can do, versus the unknown, and we also care about them. I care about Rio. I've coached Rio for eight years. You develop a relationship with him. I care about Chris. We were all instrumental in bringing him here, and that was for a reason. They understand. They're pros. They know we care about them and they know it's a business."
Miami Heat are looking to rebuild this season after missing the playoffs last year. They went from the best team in the league to one of the worsts after seeing their best player and two-time finals MVP Lebron James decided to return to Cleveland Cavaliers last year. They still have two thirds of their Big 3 as Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh are expected to return after signing new deals.
Expectt more NBA trade news, rumors and speculations in a few days.
