'Half Life 3' Release Date Update: Will Be Out In 2017 Or 2018, New Rumors Claim

| By

"Half Life 3" still releasing some time in 2017 or 2018, new rumors claim.

According to Christian Today, this new release date emerged through an alleged former Valve employee who claimed that "Half-Life 3" will be released by fourth quarter of 2017 or around the first quarter of 2018.

He also stated that, Valve didn't prioritized the third "Half Life" franchise to make its way for "Left 4 Dead game and "explained that development for "Half-Life 3" has been halted for now and that no test version has been released." He also added that Valve is just waiting the hype to calm down before continuing its development, Christian Post reported.

In line with the release date news, Yibada added that Valve already completed "Half Life 3" gameplay. However, due to the limited number of people working on the franchise a release might not come into light soon.

Meanwhile, another Reddit post from Redditor TheLoudestAirhorn explains why "Half Life 3" is never going to happen because "Half Life" main character has been brutally killed. A screen grab from the recently launched "Mad Max" in-game easter egg shows a burnt Gordon Freeman holding a crowbar almost unrecognizable, while "wooden box with a number three spray painted on it can also be seen upon further exploration of the scene," Vine Report added.

Since Valve hasn't made any confirmation about "Half Life 3" release date, Naughty Dog's Creative Director and Programmer Neil Druckmann joined the hype and recently joked on Twitter asking Valve's permission to develop the third installment of the game.

"Look, Valve, all I'm saying is you give us the Half Life license and we'll take care of the rest," he posted on Twitter.
