"Game of Thrones" actor Peter Dinklage and his wife, Erica Schmidt reportedly had a rather awkward moment at the Emmy Awards 2015 on Sunday - a moment that involved Dinklage to allegedly spit gum into his wife's mouth before climbing on stage and accepting his award.
Before going on stage, "Game of Thrones" actor Peter Linkage was chewing gum, sitting beside his wife.
When he was announced as Outstanding Supporting Actor In a Drama Series for his "Game of Thrones" character, Tyrion Lannister, the actor kissed his wife, whispered something to her and then kissed her again (this time, to allegedly spit the gum into Erica's mouth).
"I wasn't prepared at all, I was even chewing gum," Dinklage said once he got on stage to accept the award, which many websites say confirms the rumors.
"I wasn't prepared because the other actors in my category, I'm still awed by their performances," Dinklage added.
Peter Dinklage and his wife, however, seem to have enjoyed HBO's Official 2015 Emmy After-Party at The Plaza at the Pacific Design Center in L.A.
On the other hand, perhaps because of the glamorous parties (or perhaps because of the Emmys spitting incident) that Peter Dinklage and his wife were seen leaving Los Angeles to fly to New York, looking exhausted and slight unhappy.
Peter Dinklage is known for his character, Tyrion Lannister, a very intelligent and scheming brother of the queen. Lannister, although initially introduced as an irresponsible prostitute-loving drunkard later on becomes one of the most beloved characters in the series.
In 2011, the actor also won the same award for his role in the series.
Winning over 12 trophies, "Game of Thrones" set a new record in the history of the Emmy Awards.
Among the awards that the show has bagged during this year's Emmys is the Outstanding Drama Series award.
