Hello Games' Sean Murray will not only appear on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" next month, he's also lined up to do a demonstration on the show. Such a high profile guesting prompted many to ask if "No Man's Sky" release date would be unveiled then.
According to Broadway World, Murray will appear on the show alongside Morgan Freeman and Ruth Wilson on Friday, Oct. 2. Apart from an interview, Murray is also supposed to provide a demonstration.
It wasn't specified what it will be about but given that Hello Games is currently working on "No Man's Sky," it's likely about the game, according to GameRanx.
Following the guest spot notice, users on the NeoGaf forum couldn't help but ask if "The Late Show" will be the venue of "No Man's Sky" release date announcement.
"Wonder if there's a chance we get a release date during the show," one user said.
"It's really gotta be if he's showing up on a major late night show," another one replied.
But since "NMS" is one of the most hotly-anticipated games today, there were a good number of users who lamented another demo. Such is the hype behind the adventure-survival game that many just want to know when it will come out.
Still, some pointed out that a spot on national television would do well as far as promoting "No Man's Sky."
"The Late Show" guest spot isn't the only instance Murray gets to talk about the game. The indie dev is also set to appear at The New Yorker Festival for a talk and exclusive preview the following day on Oct. 3.
Given both public appearances some also speculate that "No Man's Sky" release date couldn't be too far away.
Fans will have to wait what Sean Murray has in store when he appears on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" on Oct. 2.
