Earlier this month, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said Model X Signature Series should be in the hands of those who reserved by the end of the month. Just recently, this was confirmed by invites for the electric SUV's launch event.
Along with a silhouette of the Model X with its trademark falcon wing doors open, the invite only said the launch will take place at Fremont, Calif. - the site of Tesla's factory - next Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 7 p.m.
"It's expected that Tesla will lay out pricing and options for the X at that time," The Verge said.
Those who made the $40,000 deposit for the Model X Signature Series have already been able to spec out their vehicles on a private site. However, that's for the fully-loaded Model X which carries a $132,000 price tag.
Musk earlier clarified that "regular" Model X variants will cost $5,000 more than a similarly-spec'd Model S sedan.
Per the Palo Alto, Calif.-based EV maker's website, the Signature Series has a 250-mile range and comes with all the bells and whistles. Options include a towing package and the Ludicrous Speed Upgrade which drops the electric SUV's 0 to 60 mph time to 3.2 seconds.
When the Tesla Model X Signature Series comes out, owners will be able to use it on California's carpool lanes.
According to Clean Technica, the California Air Resource Board added the Model X to the list of vehicles that can use The Golden State's HOV (High Occupancy Vehicle) lanes using the White Clean Air Vehicle decals.
The website added that CARB has also received Tesla's application for the electric SUV to be qualified for the $2,500 California ZEV rebate. Allegedly, the Model X should appear in the list of vehicles by the end of the week.
All eyes will be on the Tesla Model X Signature Series launches on Sept. 29.
