It's less than a year when director Duncan Jones' "World of Warcraft" movie hits theaters.
And while fans are excited to see the movie adaptation to the hit game already, some can't help but worry that Asian star Daniel Wu (Gul'dan) would have less screen time.
However, director Duncan Jones assured avid fans in his interview with 2p that Wu will have enough exposure in the film.
Jones explained that Wu's role is very important in the movie's plot.
"I understand the concern!...and I am very aware of how cynical the film business can be in this area!" He explained. "But please do not worry. Gul'dan is a central character, who is pivotal to the film's story! You will see a lot of him, but... you will not see Daniel Wu in the way you expect!"
Furthermore, Jones confessed that he is really impressed with Daniel Wu's performance in portraying the role of Gul'dan, the leader of the Orcs.
"Daniel has definitely put his own stamp on the character... and that is how it should be," he revealed. "You don't hire great actors to crush their individuality by forcing them into a mould you have in mind! You find a way to blend the character and the man, and get a performance that is rooted in something that is honest to them."
But while he is very impressed with Daniel Wu's performance, Jones confessed that Durotan played by "Fantastic Four" star Toby Kebbell is actually his favorite character in the movie.
"As for favourites, I cannot do that! I am like a parent now!" he said when asked of his favorite character in "World of Warcraft."
"They are all wonderful in their own ways. I hope that with our film, the audience will get a chance to see past the Horde/Alliance divide and recognize the heroes on BOTH sides!"
"But if pushed, and you want to know one of my favourite characters, Durotan is very special to me."
Meanwhile, during the same interview, Duncan Jones teased fans of a possible "World of Warcraft" trilogy as he compared the movie to that of Peter Jackson's "Lord of the Rings" trilogy.
"Peter Jackson did a magnificent job of setting the table: for Tolkein's universe with his first Lord of the Rings film," Jones teased. "I know that my job in this first film is to establish certain characters, places and culture while telling a story that a broad audience can be excited by!"
Furthermore, he explained that there are so much to tell about the entire "World of Warcraft" universe that it will not fit in just one film.
"Hopefully, if I have done my job right, people will want to know and see more! He explained. "There is certainly plenty more to tell! I would love to be part of that process of expanding on the lore that makes up Warcraft, but it will all depend on what you, the audience, think of our first film!"
"World of Warcraft" movie slated for June 10, 2016 release is directed by Duncan Jones starring Travis Fimmel, Paula Patton, Ben Foster, Dominic Cooper, Robert Kazinsky, Toby Kebbell, Daniel Wu, Ruth Negga, Clancy Brown and more.
