Talks of Naughty Dog's "The Last of Us" movie adapation has been going around for quite some time already.
And while it's most certain that the movie adaptation is movie forward, very little details about it have been revealed.
However, the name of "Game of Thrones" star Maisie Williams has long been linked to the planned film.
And while no confirmation has been made yet, Williams revealed in an interview with Screen Rant that she is actually looking forward to doing the film, just as much as the execs are looking forward to having her on board.
"Honestly I would love to and I think they would love me to play Ellie also, and that's where it is at the moment," she explained. "There's no script, no director, it's still very early days for the whole project, but if it all goes ahead soon enough I think, yeah, I would love to."
The "Game of Thrones" stars even revealed that she already met with the movie executives working on "The Last of Us" adaptation.
During the meeting, Maisie Williams revealed that she had been offered the role of Ellie.
"I had a lunch a little while ago and we spoke about the possibility of me playing Ellie and that's really exciting and I would absolutely love to," the "Game of Thrones" star previously admitted. "They announced at Comic-Con that we had spoken about it, and since then in like every interview people have been asking me about it."
It's not clear however if her possible involvement with Naughty Dog's "The Last of Us" movie adaptation will be affected with her new zombie movie titled, "Forest of Hands and Teeth."
Meanwhile, Digital Spy added that while "Game of Thrones" star Maisie Williams will most likely going to portray the role of Ellie, there are a number of stars including Dylan McDermott, Hugh Jackman and Gerard Butler who are reportedly being shortlisted to play the role of Joel.
"It was announced sort of prematurely almost in that I would love to play Ellie, they would love me to play Ellie," she said. "There's no film happening at this very second, so I cannot play Ellie right at this very minute. But when that comes around - if and when that comes around - I'll be here."
