Dakota Johnson and Charlie Hunnam will star in the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the two will star in the movie based on the popular book. Author E.L. James announced the news on Twitter on Monday:
"I am delighted to let you know that the lovely Dakota Johnson has agreed to be our Anastasia in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey," he said.
Johnson, who was in the comedy "Ben and Kate" last season will play Anastasia Steele, while Hunnam takes on the main role of Christian Grey. The movie is expected to be released August 1, 2014.
Actress, model, and Harry Potter star Emma Watson was thought to be taking on the role of Anastasia until she cleared up the information on her Twitter account:
"Who here actually thinks I would do 50 Shades of Grey as a movie? Like really. For real. In real life," she said.
"Lone Ranger" star Armie Hammer was thought to play the role of Christian, but later felt the part was not for him, Entertainment Weekly reported
According to the entertainment magazine, Monday's news is the latest developments since movie companies Focus Features and Universal paid $5 million last March.
Over the last six years, Hunnam starred as Jax Teller in FX's popular and well-known drama "Sons of Anarchy" and starred in "Pacific Rim".
Johnson's "Ben and Kate" show, which is about a single mother who lives with her brother played by Nat Faxon was cancelled because of low ratings Entertainment Weekly reported.
The actress has also been in "The Social Network", "The Five Year Engagement" and "21 Jump Street"
Johnson is the daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson.
