[VIDEO] Amy Poehler & Amy Schumer Slam The Emmy Awards 2015 & Take Over The Show

| By

Amy Poehler and Amy Schumer take the Emmy Awards 2015 stage together, kicking off the show with their comedic skills and taking a slight stab on the face of the said show, as well as introducing themselves simply by "we are Amy."

Amy Poehler and Amy Schumer were brought together on stage to present an award but not without clever jokes and not without slamming the Television Academy's take on this year's "diversified" Emmys.

The Emmys last night hailed Viola Davis as Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series, the first black American to ever win the award.

While this may have earned the Emmys a thumbs-up for finally recognizing African American actresses, Amy Poehler and Amy Schumer were clever to point out that it isn't enough (by joking about it, of course).

"What an exciting two-to-four hours for women in comedy!" Poehler exclaimed of the awards show.

"Let's not forget what tonight is really about," Schumer piled on. "Celebrating hilarious women, and letting the Internet weigh in on who looks worst,"

Amy Poehler and Amy Schumer's hilarious sarcasm on the Emmy Awards 2015 stage, according to critic Melissa Merz, "helped skewer any industry back-patting over diversity."

Of course, Amy Poehler and Amy Schumer didn't stop there - they took over the show using their individually funny ways.

Poehler took the time to change her outfit, dressing like "Mean Girls'" character, Damien, when the nominees for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series were being announced.

Schumer, on the other hand, made an emotional speech for winning Best Sketch Comedy Series for "Inside Amy Schumer" and thanking her "smokey eye" make-up.

"Thank you everyone... the girl who gave me this smokey eye," Schumer said, as the audience laughed.

Despite being an improv pro who could host an awards show like she did for the 2015 MTV Movie Awards, Schumer recently said she is not interested to become a host again.

"I don't think you get paid a lot, and it seems kind of thankless," Schumer said. "You get rewarded with getting to host again."
