"Mr. Robot" cast Rami Malek has been the biggest revelation of summer.
His USA Network drama-thriller is one of the most critically acclaimed TV series this year and Malek's portrayal of mentally troubled computer programmer/hacker Elliot Alderson is one of its biggest gem.
"Mr. Robot" season 2 was confirmed a few days before the show's debut, proof of how confident the network is on the show.
Fans are excited to see "Mr. Robot" cast Malek and Christian Slater and their mind boggling scenes again. If it is Malek who will be asked, he'd rather take it slow. He is not ready to make assumptions on what will happen in "Mr. Robot" season 2 because he thinks it would cause negative effect in the society.
"I hate to think about those issues because I feel like everything that we do touch upon ends up being something that can cause massive damage to our societies," the "Mr. Robot" cast said when asked by Entertainment Weekly at People's Ones to Watch red carpet in Los Angeles.
"So I'd rather not anticipate the things that are going to happen."
"Mr Robot" cast growing paranoid, too
"Mr. Robot" tackles one of the controversial issues today - hacking and surveillance. One of the immediate effects of each episode is viewers going paranoid about their online activities, especially when the Ashley Madison hacking occurred. It is not just the viewers who fear going online, even "Mr. Robot" cast members themselves.
"The more I've worked on this show, the more I refrain from getting on the computer or on my phone, because I realize just how fragile our information [is], and how susceptible it is to being compromised," Malek told Vulture.
"I cover up my webcam, and I've even started to cover up the microphone now because I think they are listening."
His co-stars Portia Doubleday and Carly Chaiken feel the same.
"When I [asked my best friend], 'What's your password for this?' and she told me, I was like, 'That's unacceptable. That's literally unacceptable.' She's like, 'Who is going to hack my American Airlines thing?' And I was like, 'You never know,'" said Doubleday.
Chaikin takes extra care when it comes to her internet activities.
"I always leave my laptop open, and now it's an OCD thing that I have to close it all the time," said Chaikin, who plays fellow FSociety member Darlene. "I had tape over my camera that I kept having to take off because I would video-chat. Now I just make sure it's shut. It's more paranoia because I know what's possible. It's weird to walk around every single place I go and it comes to my head, 'Oh, we could hack that, or we could do this.' It's crazy."
"Mr. Robot" season 2 release date is expected to be confirmed by the end of year or start of 2016.
