"Empire" season 2 release date is just a few sleeps away. Some people are nervous about the show's return due to the fact that it added too many bright stars.
They think its original cast and characters will be overshadowed. That will not happen and the person who can attest to that that is TV Line's Michael Ausiello.
The entertainment writer was among the few lucky people who had the chance to see the show even if "Empire" season 2 release date is not yet here. He said the Fox musical drama did not get any weaker compared to its first season.
"I've seen the first two episodes of Empire Season 2 and I got nary a whiff of a sophomore slump," he wrote in his 'Ask Ausiello' column.
"The show continues to fire on all creative cylinders, I am relieved to report. Even the parade of guest stars didn't distract from the central Lyon-family narrative."
Michael Ausiello also went on to elaborate which guest stars fans should be excited about. Among those showurnner Ilene Chaiken mentioned last month is Marissa Tomei.
"If anything, the spot-on performances from the likes of Chris Rock and Marisa Tomei only added to the entertainment value," he said.
"The real star of the premiere: Boo Boo Kitty herself, Grace Gealey. Cookie's underrated punching bag is at the center of my two favorite moments, one of which is pure physical comedy gold, and another is her just absorbing a classic Cookie zinger. With all due respect to the great Taraji P. Henson, let's keep in mind that Cookie's Boo Boo kabooms wouldn't land as spectacularly as they do without Gealey's restrained, subtle reaction shots."
"Empire" season 2 release date is September 23 and expect an extravagant season with their additional stars.
Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson will still be center of the story but they will share the spotlight each episode to the many of the guest stars booked. Among them are Chris Rock, Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, Ludacris, Common, and more.
