Masashi Kishimoto Reveals New Sci-Fi Manga Series Following The End Of 'Naruto'

Sad to say but Masashi Kishimoto has definitely ended the long-running and well-loved "Naruto" manga series.

However, while the story of the ninja warrior has finally come to an end, Masashi Kishimoto has something new to offer to manga fans.

Anime News Network reported that Kishimoto revealed to Kadokawa's Entermix entertainment magazine that he's actually working on a new sci-fi manga following "Naruto's" ending.

"I've already decided what I'm going to write about in my next work," Kishimoto revealed. "I'm thinking of writing a science-fiction work. I've already finalized the character designs."

Furthermore, he teased that the lead to his upcoming sci-fi manga is someone who very unique to the extent that the likes of it has never before seen in the manga world.

"I think the protagonist is one that hasn't been seen before in manga, and while it's me saying it, I think that the character is done very well."

And while this will be completely different from the "Naruto" manga series, Masashi Kishimoto explained that this new one is surely going to be a hit.

"I want to think once more about the difference between what I want to write and what readers are looking for when reading my works," Kishimoto stated. "I started thinking about this by writing 'Naruto' and various one-shots. 'Naruto' became an unexpected hit, but I want to make my next work a hit as well by actually aiming to do so."

However, after all the teasing, Masashi Kishimoto failed to mention when he plans to release this new sci-fi manga of his.

"I don't know when I'll announce my new work, but please wait for my challenge of a work that will surpass Naruto."

Meanwhile, during the press conference held by Otaku Art, Masashi Kishimoto revealed that for the longest time the "Naruto" manga series was on production he kept on neglecting his family and this is the only time that he finally got to spend quality time with them.

"During this time, I finally went on my honeymoon," Kishimoto said. "Even though my son has grown as big as Boruto."

Masashi Kishimoto admitted that after years of doing "Naruto," he finally grew tired of it.

"After finishing the manga serial [last year], I finally though I could rest," Kishimoto explained, "but I couldn't..."

And while the manga has ended, Kishimoto made sure that "Boruto: Naruto The Movie" is going to be the perfect send off for the well-loved manga series.

"I can't. Please let me rest now. The Boruto film is perfect. I'm just speaking for myself, but I'm enormously satisfied," he said.
