Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 Windows 10 Variant On The Works? Expected To Be Unveiled On Sept. 22

The upcoming Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 might get a Windows 10 variant.

According to GSM Arena, Xiaomi has been testing few devices with Microsoft's Windows 10 mobile platform, including its flagship Xiaomi Mi 4 and the upcoming tablet Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 which suggests that a Windows 10 based Xiaomi Mi Pad might debut on Xiaomi's scheduled event.

Reportedly, the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 passed the TENAA certication in China and has been spotted at Chana's 3C Certification center website.

Though certification documents did not reveal much information about the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2, aside from model number "2015716" and 5.0 volts which was rated 2A, believed to be the device's unit. Rumor has it that the it will feature a 10-inch screen with 2560 x 1440 resolution, and could compete with Microsoft Surface Pro 4.

In addition, according to the rumor mill Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 will come in two variants of Windows 10 and Android 5.1 Lollipop or the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow, but will not run as dual boot device.

It will run on the latest Intel 14-nanometer processor paired with a 4GB of RAM. On the camera side, it will sport a 13MP rear camera, Christian Post reported.

The Xiaomi Mi Pad is expected to be unveiled on Sept. 22 along with the Xiaomi Mi 4c.

On the other hand, the Xioami Mi 4c has been revealed ahead of its release date by Xiaomi co-founder and president Bin Lin, that will feature a 5-inch full HD (1,920 x 1,080 pixel) display.

Under the hood, will be a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor either coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB of storage, and 3GB RAM with 32GB of storage. It has been also teased on Weibo that the Xiaomi Mi 4c will feature a USB-Type C connector, according to Techno Buffalo.

The 16GB variant will be available first in China for $235, while the 32GB pricing is yet to be announced, Digital Trends added.
