"Pokemon Go" will be arriving to Android and iOS.
Nintendo and The Pokémon Company collaborated with Niantic to bring a "Pokemon" franchise on mobiles devices as an AR game, Headlines and Global News reported.
"Nintendo brought its publishing power, The Pokémon Company committed its intellectual property, and Niantic supplied its augmented reality gaming platform for the new game: "Pokemon Go"."
The upcoming "Pokemon" franchise will be available on iOS and Android devices for free. However, it is still unclear whether in-app purchases are required before players can start playing the game. It will be played on the real world through Augmented Reality technology, Headlines and Global News reported.
"For the first time, Pokémon will roam free in the real world. Pokémon GO will allow players to capture Pokémon who inhabit parks, shopping areas, sidewalks and the countryside all around the world. Imagine discovering a Squirtle hiding along the waterfront in San Francisco, a Bulbasaur at Shinjuku Station or a Pikachu beneath the Eiffel Tower," according to John Hanke, founder of Niantic.
Players of the "Pokémon GO" game may also purchase a wearable wristband called "Pokémon Go Plus" which allows players play the game without looking on their mobile devices, PC Advisor reported.
The "Pokemon Go Plus" can be connected to iOs and Android via Bluetooth and uses LED and vibration to alert players for "Pokemon" activities nearby. Players can also catch a "Pokemon" and perform simple gestures by pressing a button on the device.
As for "Pokemon Go" release date, it is being said to be released some time in 2016.
Meanwhile, "Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon" another "Pokemon" franchise has been confirmed for a release in Japan on Sept. 27, North America on Nov. 20, while it goes official in Europe on early 2016 exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS handheld.
