LeBron James To Produce ‘Space Jam 2’? Blake Griffin Absolutely Wants To Be Part Of The Sequel!

| By

There were rumors coming out that Warner Bros. is planning to do "Space Jam 2" and the new ad of Nike Jordan may have just confirmed a sequel to the 90s animated film that starred Michael Jordan.

The commercial of Jordan Super Fly 4 was entitled "The Dunk to End All Dunks" and it featured basketball superstar Blake Griffin, who goes on a one-on-one dunking competition against Marvin the Martian.

According to CBS News, the colors of the shoes are black, green and orange, which are obviously a throwback to the original movie poster.

The Nike ad was also produced by Warner Bros. which created "Space Jam" and there were reports that the studio filed new trademarks for the Looney Tunes movie.

If Warner Bros. pushed through with "Space Jam 2," then there's a chance that fans will see Blake Griffin on the big screen. During an interview with Basketball Insiders, the Los Angeles Clippers star player was asked if he would like to be part of the sequel.

"Oh absolutely, absolutely. I'd love to be involved in any capacity, really. Space Jam was a huge part of my childhood," the 26-year-old athlete said. "I think it would be a lot of fun. If you told me when I was 8 years old that I could possibly have a chance to be in 'Space Jam 2', it would have blown my mind. That would just be like another check off the bucket list," he added.

Before Blake Griffin was rumored to take over the role of Michael Jordan, LeBron James was the top candidate and he even teased his fans during a Twitter Q&A where one fan asked if he is doing "Space Jam 2."

"Maybe...Guess we'll just have to wait and see. #LooneyToonsRock," the basketball great replied.

During an interview with Today, the Cleveland Cavaliers player discussed his partnership with Warner Bros.

"It's a passion of mine,'' he said. "Everything I do, I have a passion about it. If we could continue it, I know I don't have to dribble a basketball and fly through the air to do those type of things."

He also revealed the possibility of producing "Space Jam 2."

"We're definitely missing Bugs and Daffy and Tasmanian Devil and every last one of them, so hopefully we can do some great things,'' LeBron James added.
