Lorde has instantly become a household name following the phenomenal success of her single "Royals."
Ang while she's still enjoying her new found fame, the 18-year-old Grammy winner is reportedly actively gearing up for her new album.
And in her interview with BBC, Lorde talked about the details of her new album and how different the sound will be compared to "Pure Heroine."
"I wrote the last album about that world which was the suburb where I grew up and populated by my friends and people who were really familiar to me," Lorde said of her last album. "Now I'm in a different place every day and I'm with new people every day and it's a different vibe."
And while she has already planned things out, Lorde said that she will start writing when she feels like it's already the perfect time.
"We haven't got some planned out 'this is what it's going to sound like' ... I think we're just going to start writing and when it starts to feel right, we'll know that it's right. It's pretty simple really."
And as she waits for that perfect time to arrive, Lorde revealed that she's already spending much of her time in the studio to get her groove going.
"I don't know where the inspiration comes from for stuff. You work and at some point you feel you suck for the first 10 hours and in the last hour in the studio something great happens. You just never know when it's going to come."
And in her Tumblr post, Lorde expressed how excited and at the same time scared she feels about working on her new album.
"I'm just getting into making the next body of work, which is very exciting and scary but SO VALIDATING (I also went to a wild beautiful fashion ball last night which maybe I'll elaborate on in another post)," she said.
