German tuner Mansory recently revealed Tesla Mode S mods that give the EV an updated styling and even performance gains as the company claimed.
Mansory set up the Model S with a newly-designed front apron with built-in LED daytime running lights, a rear lip spoiler side skirts and a rear apron with a diffuser insert. Everything "[adds] to the standard production bodywork, in a distinguished, seamless manner."
"Nothing looks pretentious or ostentatious," Mansory said.
According to CarScoops, the styling mods emphasize the Model S's aggressive design cues, "making it feel less odd."
True to the tuner's rep, all components are built using carbon fiber in an autoclave. The process entails putting carbon fiber sheets into moulds and hardened in an autoclave. The upside to the manner of construction means performance gains for Palo Alto's critically-acclaimed electric sedan.
"Acceleration, stopping distances and the energy consumption of the vehicle are all improved due to the reduction of the weight of the car," the tuner said.
Then again, Mansory didn't provide any numbers to back up its claims.
"Don't expect significant improvements, however, as it's unlikely that the styling package adds any significant range to the Model S," AutoGuide said.
Its Tesla Model S mods didn't forget the interior of the EV though. Also included in the package is a sporty steering wheel, aluminium pedals and illuminated door sills.
Outside, the look is finished off with beefier 22-inch alloy M10 wheels wrapped in 295/25/22 tires. The EV also gets green accents on the interior and exterior which "make it look like a sport shoe," per CarScoops.
"Still, the accents are there to highlight the car's eco nature," the website said.
Pricing and availability for the Mansory Model S haven't been announced.
If Mansory's Tesla Model S mods aren't your cup of tea, perhaps Brabus' styling mods would be to your liking.
