Tool Ditches New Album For A New Merchandise? Maynard James Keenan Having Issues With Bandmates?

| By

10 years following the release of their last album, fans can't help but ask for a new record from Tool.

However, it seems nothing is happening with the band's progress.

Instead, the American rock band seemed to have ditched their new album for a new merchandise.

According to Consequence of Sound, Tool has launched "quilted blankets made from old Tool t-shirts."

No new album to offer, but at least they have blankets to make fans feel warm.

The blankets don't come cheap however, one Tool blanket costs $199, partly because it's made out of cotton shirt from the band and it's only available in limited quantities.

In other Tool news, there have been reports claiming that frontmant, Maynard James Keenan is actually having problems with the band, thus he can't go and make music yet.

According to Metal Injection Keenan already revealed the reason why there has been a delay with Tool's new album.

In his previous interview with Rolling Stone Keenan said that he's the one responsible for the lyrics and the melodies of their music, but "If I don't have music, I can't."

And while that may be disappointing for fans, Tool however is set to make their first performance of the year on Halloween.

As previously reported by Consequence Of Sound, during the performance fans are expecting a big news for the band's new album.

Meanwhile, guitarist Adam Jones has previously told Yahoo Music that now that the "lawsuit is out of the way," they should expect "great things" from Tool.

"Our greatest strength is jamming and coming up with stuff," Jones assured.

"We're doing that really well now and I'm excited about everything we're working on. Some of it's really heavy, some of it's complex and some is more atmospheric, but it's definitely Tool. I think having this lawsuit out of the way should really speed of the progress of getting the album done."
