Probably the craziest NBA trade rumors around. After overachieving last season, Atlanta Hawks are reportedly ready to make big changes in the squad this 2015-16 NBA season. These are bold and big changes to stay the least to say the least.
According to NBA trade rumours, last year's Eastern Conference bridesmaid is willing to let go of All-Star center Al Horford.
This scoop was first reported by Yibada citing NESN as the source.
"A report from NESN identifies the possible "big and powerful" players that the Celtics are eyeing. Two of the most viable choices are Al Horford and Tristan Thompson," Yibada wrote.
"Al Horford has been a Conference rival for years now, and he is part of an Atlanta team that has been middling in the playoffs until last year's breakthrough, when they finished first in the Conference. However, that still did not translate into a Finals appearance."
The report also said that it was the Dominican Republic star who refuses new deal with Atlanta Hawks.
Among those who are rumored to be chasing Al Horford is Boston Celtics with team president Danny Ainge more driven to get a high caliber player.
"We are going to go after anybody and everybody that we think is a significant player to upgrade our talent," Ainge said according to Boston Globe.
"And when I say upgrade our talent, you've got to be pretty good to upgrade our talent, because we have good players. And so we're going after all the top names on the list and seeing what happens."
Although he is looking for a solid addition, Ainge said they will not spend instantly on someone just because they can.
"We would welcome any one of [our free agents] back for the right price and the right role," Ainge said adding that the player should be someone that fit their system.
"Sometimes, it's just not the right fit," Ainge said. "I think an important piece of the puzzle is finding those guys that fit with the coach, with the system, and with those other players on the team."
Will Celtics get Horford? Or is it just a mere, baseless NBA trade rumor?
