While fans await for Warner Bros. biggest superhero film next year (Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice), director Zack Snyder has gamely shared juicy details about Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck's characters.
Often compared to Chritopher Nolan's "Batman" installments, Snyder wanted fans to understand that the upcoming "Batman V Superman" film is different.
In a talk with The Daily Beast, the 49-year-old American filmmaker elaborated what fans should expect of the new Caped Crusader.
"It's a different Batman than the Batman that was in the Chris Nolan movies, so we have a little bit more explaining to do - and you just had a whole Superman movie," he explained. "But I think only in that way, because you need to understand where Batman is with everything. And that's more toward the beginning, but it evens back out as it goes on."
While trying to keep details kept underwraps, Snyder treated fans with how Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) and Clark Kent's (Henry Cavill) difference in physicality and point of view will play a pivotal role in "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice."
"They're actually opposite sides of the same coin. It's interesting because Batman's a man and Superman's a god, if you think about it in those terms. So their relationship is very contentious," he explained. "What Superman sees as Batman's limits, Batman sees as Superman trying to control him, acting like an absolute dictator."
And while he acknowledges Steven Spielberg's belief that fans will eventually grow tired of superhero films, he is confident that "Batman V Superman" is not like any other superhero films, even throwing a shade at Marvel's "Ant-Mant."
"I feel like he's [Steven Spielberg] right. But I feel like Batman and Superman are transcendent of superhero movies in a way, because they're Batman and Superman," Snyder said. "They're not just, like, the flavor of the week Ant-Man-not to be mean, but whatever it is. What is the next Blank-Man?"
Even Jesse Eisenberg, who will play Superman's archenemy, Lex Luthor, is confident that Zack Snyder's directing prowess will bring the film to its pedestal.
Talking to Ace Showbiz, Eisenberg shared how "well directed" the film is with the brilliance of Zack Snyder and writer Chris Terrio.
"Yes, it is like the most incredible character," Eisenberg said of his character Lex Luthor. "It was written by this guy, Chris Terrio. This is like his first movie after 'Argo.' He's just this brilliant writer of characters. So this movie is not this kind of cartoonish superhero movie. It is very serious and well acted, well written, well directed movie. It's really phenomenal!"
In other "Batman V Superman" news, there have been claims that Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck are now engaged in a battle for screen time.
According to Heroic Hollywood Warner Bros. actually aims to feature more of the Dark Knight rather than the Man of Steel in the film. The publication even claimed that Affleck's Batman "is blowing Henry Cavill's Superman right off the screen."
Both Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck have however yet to comment on the said report.
"Batman V Superman" is set to hit theaters on March 25, 2016.
