Australian Actors Taking Over Hollywood! Chris Hemsworth, Hugh Jackman And More

| By

Australian actors are reportedly taking over Hollywood today, along with their British colleagues.

More and more Aussies have been taking on lead roles in big-budgeted American films. What could be their appeal?

Michael Douglas told The Independent that their masculinity is making them more popular in the international scene right now.

"With the Aussies, particularly with the males it's the masculinity," he shared last July. "In the US we have this relatively asexual or unisex area with sensitive young men and we don't have many Channing Tatums or Chris Pratts, while the Aussies do. It's a phenomena."

Some of these "masculine" Australian actors include Chris Hemsworth, who became popular because of his appearances in Marvel superhero films such as "Thor" and "Avengers." His younger brother, Liam, also struck gold in Hollywood.

On the other hand, people can't get to know Aussie actors without mentioning Hugh Jackman (as Wolverine, among others). Other more established actors include Mel Gibson, Geoffrey Rush, and Russell Crowe.
